I know that this game targets this age because of how graphical the game is with the blood and the overall objective of the game is to kill as many people as possible and this is not suitable for anyone under the age of the given certificate which is 18. I know that this game relates to males because you are playing a male in the game and females may find it hard relating to the characters, also the gruesomeness of the game may be to much for some females. The psychographics of the game is mainstreamers and possibly alternative i think this because there is a lot of people who play the game which is what attracts this to the mainstream audiences. I think the mainstream audiences are attracted to this game because when on line you are allowed to just shoot appointments and i think the simplicity and the entertainment factor is why is appeals to a mainstream audience. The reasons i think this game can be classed under alternative is because of the maps used in the game as you can see in the clip they are playing in a nuke town, this is not a generic convention for a war settings so by doing this they are braking generic conversions and appealing to a different type of audience.I know that the socio economicis is in the E category by this clip because of of the people that play the game and the person commentating at the start of the game is younger so I presume that he doesn't have a job.

A typical gamer is typically a 35 year old male with a job and a family these games tend to take up to 4 weeks to finish a tile this shows that the time is not just dedicated to gaming like some people would of thought to be 'typical gamer'.These people are classes as a 'typical gamer' because they have a income that withstands the expenses that need to be paid to up keep having a console whether that is buy xbox like monthly or the cost of the game itself. It is not only men who play these games but these woman work and have a family and are in a relationship. These gamers stay up until 10.58pm exactly.
In my opinion the most useful way of defining an audience is demographics because it covers a lot things in one category such as age, gender and race. When looking at age a game targeting infants isn't going to target a teenager and this is made clear with packaging like the colours used on the game case. When looking at gender some games can very anti to the oppositional sex such as Fashion games, cooking mama are anti male and specifically targeting girls, with the game being called 'cooking mama' who is a female and the case cover being pink this game is clearly targeting females. Games that targets males such as Fifa this game targets males because it's based around the sport football which has a large majority male following so a game based round the sport is going to target a male audience.
The positives of the focus group are that people got to display their feelings about a game and give there strong opinions on it and have their say on the game. I also feel that it was informative and i did learn something from the questions we asked. The negative parts where that some of the answers could be a little blunt and that some people had the tendency to repeat what the last person said.
The typical person who plays this game is males. The reason the focus group was just males is because we asked females if they have played the game so they could take part in our focus group but all the girls we asked said that they had never played the game. The typical person plays the game to help "pass time" and because its "entertaining".They also found that zombies was their favourite part of the game. The typical person also thought that £45 was expensive and because the people we asked were teenagers and some possibly don't have jobs they may not be able to be afford this game.
Focus groups are important to the industry because it helps the industry before they put out a game on to the market because they want to know if it will sell to the demographic they had in mind. By asking specific questions to these people they could ask them if they would buy the game and if no then why not. If its a majority vote changes could be made to the game to helps it sell the the preferred target audience.
